Kids wall art idea

I would like to incorporate some of my kids art masterpieces on a big wall down the hall near their bedrooms. (not the very bright ones though!) It would look great and I know they would love showing it off!

I know it's not valentines for a long time.....

Simple and chic! these bamboo baskets (from any asian grocer) are cheap as chips - and what a statement!

Pink pomegranate jewel salad

All you need is a bed of rocket, over which you scatter torn prosciutto,

shaved parmesan cheese,blobs of cream cheese and pomegranate seeds.

Finish with some balsamic and a little oil.

Yummo!

David Trubridge light in our front entry

We have five metre ceilings in our front entry and I fell in love with this light. It's got a great impact and casts the most amazing shadows at night! Hubby took great pride in assembling it too.

One day......

........when we win lotto I'd love to have an "escape weekender cottage" at the foothills of Berry (or surrounds); with amazing views of course! I'd love to buy an old cottage with loads of charm and re-vamp it. It would be a family getaway (a great project) and also could be rented out to holiday makers later down the track. Even though I'm a modern girl at heart I do love period features and the old country world charm. Ill keep dreaming...........

Bird cages

The bird cage decals (which my daughter chose) for her room. We are waiting patiently for them to arrive (with daily checks to the post box)! Will post her "updated" room soon. (when I get around to photographing it.)

basil, lemon and garlic roasted chicken

¼ cup chopped basil leaves 2 tablespoons lemon zest 2 cloves garlic, crushed ¼ cup (60ml) olive oil 2 x 250g chicken breast fillets, skin on and wingtip attached, trimmed 2 zucchini (courgettes), sliced 250g cherry tomatoes ¼ cup basil leaves, extra lemon wedges, to serve Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Place the basil, lemon zest, garlic and oil in a bowl and stir to combine. Place the chicken and zucchini on a baking tray and spoon over the basil mixture. Roast for 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes and roast for a further 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Top with extra basil leaves and serve with lemon wedges. Serves 2. From Donna Hay's Recipe collection

Beautiful colours

I think Im drawn to these colours - aquas and yellows. They seem to be scattered around my house. Loving the photography by ara133photographys in the prints above. Might have to buy some and add to my walls.....somewhere....

Officially my next project

This has really inspired me to update my look near our master bedroom and re-vamp it - so it's a little less boring and more inspiring (like the above image). I already have some letters and have bought some different frames. The images in one of the frames will be from my Grandma (a drawing from her school days); and I also have a plate (although a little ugly) from my mum's Nonna. I want to also add some B/W photos and some lovely artwork from Etsy (on my next blog).

Will be attempting this effect in our hallway (one day)

This is such a smart effect (very glamorous and stylish!) and would look divine in our hallway. Have to find the right contrasting shimmer paint and also some time (kid free).

Another project..

And another project to add to my huge list already - a stool for the bathroom. Now I just have to find a 2nd hand one to revamp as I already have the mexican oilcloth fabric chosen.

It's just that I somehow have so many things to add today for some bizarre reason?

I have a whole list of beautiful items yet to add too. (but will wait till June!!)

This place Ive got to get to with my lil family! It's on my to do list for a nice winter lunch and winter walk on the beach.

Wow!

I'm loving this interior look. I ended up finding the exact matching rattan coffee table on Ebay for a bargain price of $120 and I love it. (It was my birthday present!)

Now Im trying to find the 3 lights/lanterns above the kitchen bench. That's to be added onto Santa's list.
